Please join us Thursday Aug 8th, as we embark on a musical journey into History, Mystery, Magic & Wonder in celebration of the life and legacy of Adolph Sutro at the historic Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California.

A themed rock concert party for all ages (6+), featuring Tracorum with Jazz Mafia Horns (Adam Theis, Joe Cohen, Mike Olmos).

Costumes are encouraged! Come dressed as a traveler from any time in San Francisco history or just dive headfirst into the wanderings of your own celebratory creations. As you walk up the red carpet and enter the Music Hall prepare to be immersed in a world of pure imagination, filled with mysterious performers, historic time travelers, inventive illusionists and the musical spirit of San Francisco’s greatest philanthropist, Adolph Sutro.

Proceeds from this event will go to support The Blue Bear School of Music and The Rex Foundation.

Established in 1971 the Blue Bear School of Music is the "original" school of rock! 30,000 music loving students have passed through the halls of this invaluable resource since its inception and over 850 students participate in programs there each quarter. Blue Bear School of Music’s nonprofit mission is to provide superior quality and affordable popular music education to aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels within a supportive and encouraging community!

We will feature 2 performances from current Blue Bear Youth Bands. Prepare to be amazed and get rocked!

Established by the Grateful Dead in 1983 The Rex Foundation continues to set the bar for generosity and social outreach. The Rex Foundation aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere.

There will be performers of all types adding to the mystery and celebration at this event, circus folk, dancers, actors, pirates and many more characters of an eternal nature including yourselves.

Also showcasing The Harpoons! – A genre-bending, boundary-pushing classically-trained duo featuring two of the most mysterious and magical instruments of the orchestra: harp and bassoon, and many more characters of an eternal nature including yourselves.

We will be awarding the 1st ever Spirit of Sutro Award – The Spirit of Sutro Award will be given out twice a year – Once on Sutro’s birthday and once on the anniversary of his passing which is Aug 8th! It will be given by Sutro’s Last Wish to an individual who exemplifies the wondrous spirit of Adolph Sutro.
