***A rare performance with a full band!***
Iris DeMent says of that elusive inspirational spark, "I didn’t know when or if I’d make another record. I gave up on trying to steer it or force it and decided to just make myself available in my heart and mind as much as I could and leave the rest up to fate."
Sixteen years after the last collection of DeMent songs, that time has come. "Sing The Delta" presents twelve self-penned compositions from an artist whose first three albums established her as one of the most beloved and respected writers and singers in American music.
Andrew St. James is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from from the fog-enshrouded misty hills of San Francisco’s west side. Incorporating a beyond-his-years lyrical vision with a unique gift for melody-making, Andrews’ music lands firmly in the folk/alternative world but displays a real knack for timeless songwriting skills. His San Francisco-themed life lends a colorful cast of characters to his songs – "hip alternative street folk", Irish immigrants, Mission hipsters, and plenty of love songs abound – songs that sound like soundtracks from a multitude of hard-lived lives. Along with the mysteries of the West Coast, deep themes of American realities and perceptions abound in songs like New Dolores Park Spectacle, I’m All About You, and East Of Eden. In June 2012, Andrew recorded a 6 song EP with the SF’s producer team the Rondo Brothers, and is currently working on his second EP and playing shows around the Bay Area.
