THE SUN KINGS – A BEATLES TRIBUTE AS NATURE INTENDED - A CELEBRATION OF 1966 AND MORE!

August 29, 1966. This is one of those incredibly special dates in Beatles' lore. It was the date of their last live performance. Aside from just being tired after three years of Beatlemania, their new music had progressed to the point that they could no longer perform it live given the sound equipment available. Most of the Rubber Soul, Yesterday & Today, & Revolver material never made it to the live stage.

Fast forward 50 years to August 27, 2016. The Sun Kings will perform the concert that never was: The Beatles' songs from Rubber Soul, Yesterday & Today, and Revolver, the songs from the last concert at Candlestick Park, plus many other of your favorite Beatles songs at the majestic Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Opening for The Sun Kings will be the brilliant Rachel Rolleri, who is the latest in singer-songwriter talent from the San Francisco Bay Area. At only 20, she has won local music contests, been a semi-finalist in American Idol, written several albums worth of music, as well as gigged all over California. She's played San Francisco's historic Candlestick Park in the summer of 2014, as well as Wente Vineyards' Front Porch Music Festival, Sweetwater in Marin, countless open mics, private parties, and more.

Her music plays into the iconic sound of the singer-songwriter scene in the sixties and seventies, counting The Beatles and Joni Mitchell as her influences, while infusing current sounds, much like modern radio hits.

The Sun Kings are dedicating this show to the Route For The Brave walkers, along with the veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Gold Star Families they support. Please visit our RAZOO "Support Route For The Brave" Crowdfunding page for more information about this particular cause and to perhaps support by donation.
